My most
definable characteristics in being a goldsmith are detail in design and
creating
innovative concepts. This is why I often define my style as
“insightfully
simplistic”. To invent new forms, I keep my eyes constantly
open to my
surroundings. What mostly appeal to my eyes in surfaces and patterns
are large,
simple and impressive forms. I also draw inspiration from working with
different colours.
I founded my
own company in autumn 2003. Since then I have designed and created both
unique
pieces of jewellery as well as entire collections, also for companies
and
organizations.
My
catalogue currently includes collections: Fleuri
(2002), Nonparelli
(2004) and Bubbles
(2005). I designed the Bubbles
jewellery collection as a thesis study for the Lahti Design Institute
from which
I graduated in spring 2005 with a major in jewellery and silver design.
The
Bubbles collection is innovative,
alluring
and modifiable,
and so embodies all the elements that I want to pay
attention to as a designer.
Even in the
early stages of my studies, a felt a strong desire to have an influence
in
Finnish jewellery design and in the culture of how we Finns wear
jewellery. By
designing and creating jewellery with the combination of my own vision
and
craftsmanship, I am truly able to fulfil this desire.
